About the Item

Old Ring in solid 18K Rose Gold with plain band. Round Crown Ø 12 mm x 3 mm deep with slightly convex surface is decorated with 25 pave set natural Rubies and Diamonds, all stones of old European diamond cut, in gradual sizes with open backs / intact culets. No hallmarks. Made ca. XIX - early XX cent. 12 dark pinky Rubies show some wear to facets under x 10 magnification + 12 Diamonds with very insignificant bites of time. Largest stones ca. Ø 1.5 mm To me (subjectively) this geometrical 3*4*3*4*3*4*3 pave arrangement may be a Heraldic meaningful combo / digital code. Certain families had certain dots or stars sequences on their shields, like 4321 .. 4431 or 321 or 3321. Or otherwise - this Design was never meant to be associated with *Heraldry at all :) Size Ø 4.75 US / 15.53 mm. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. " there are inclusions that I didn't notice " "it looks smaller than I expected" ! Unfortunately Internet sales do not allow us to see the items in person before we get them by post.
