Ring in 18 karat rose gold, eagle's head hallmark.
Magnificent contemporary ring, it is set closed on its mount with an intaglio on quartz representing a mythological scene.
Total weight of the quartz: around 14.30 carats.
Height: 17.9 mm, width: 22.5 mm, thickness: approximately 4.7 mm, width of the ring at the base: 2.9 mm.

Our opinion: Inspired by antique rings, this intaglio ring is particularly well made.
The history of this jewel: This intaglio represents Saint Jerome and the Lion. The story goes that the saint was in prayer when he saw a lion arrive, a cruel predator. When he saw the animal approaching, Jerome noticed that it was limping and crying. A huge splinter was planted in his paw. He took it away and looked after the animal. It is said that the grateful lion never left Jerome until his death, joining him there soon after. Saint Jerome was canonized and became the patron saint of translators.
