About the Item
Antique diamond cluster ring by Gorham. Set centrally with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back raised rubover setting with a weight of 1.00 carats, further enhanced by twelve round old cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 1.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.20 carats, to a rectangular cluster with bevelled corners, decoratively enhanced with fine millegrain decoration to the borders and a floraform filigree motif issuing from the centre, proceeding to a pierced geometric gallery and fancy backholing, the ornate openwork shoulders set with cheniers and leading to a tapering D-shape shank. Tested platinum, marked 'GORHAM CO', American, circa 1905. UK finger size M.
