About the Item
Antique Edwardian sapphire and diamond engagement ring in silver and yellow gold, circa 1900. This remarkable treasure features an elongated oval dark blue sapphire, estimated at 0.90 carats and having probably been mined in Australia over a century ago. Encircled by two rows of sparkling rose-cut diamonds, this deep blue gemstone is set within an intricately designed silver and gold collet. The openwork scrolled galleries add a touch of sophistication, leading to a solid D-shaped yellow gold shank.
TECHNICAL DATA
- Sapphire: oval; estimated 0.90ct (approx. 9.30 x 4.75 x 2.19 mm); dark blue color; Australian geographic origin opinion (assessed).
- Diamonds: 36 stones; rose-cut; estimated 0.40ct total.
