About the Item
A sapphire and diamond ring, the octagonal-cut sapphire weighing 3.03 carats, rub-over set between three graduated stepped shoulders on each side, set with twelve princess-cut diamonds estimated to weigh 0.4 carats in total, all mounted in platinum, with square-section shank, bearing Swedish platinum marks, later hallmarked 950 platinum London 2021, finger size K, gross weight 6.1 grams.
This stunning sapphire and diamond ring comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It features a magnificent central sapphire weighing over three carats. The sapphire is a deep shade of royal blue and an octagonal cut which accentuates the rich colour of the stone. The sapphire is flanked by a twelve princess-cut diamonds on each side, which add lovely sparkle to this piece. The ring was influenced by the Art Deco period where geometry was combined with bold gemstones and artistic expression through design. The Art Deco style showed the liberation from the conservative Edwardian era.
