Antique Acrostic “REGARD” Ring, Early Victorian (c. 1840)
An exquisite jewel of sentiment from the early Victorian era (circa 1840), this 15ct gold ring showcases a delicately crafted pansy motif, set with a symbolic arrangement of gemstones spelling the word “REGARD”: Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, and Diamond. Such acrostic jewels were cherished tokens of affection, carrying hidden messages understood only by the giver and the recipient.
The floral face of the ring measures approximately 0.3 inches north to south and remains in excellent condition—a remarkable testament to its preservation over nearly two centuries. The ring is currently a size 7 and it can be re-sized.
