About the Item

A very pretty diamond and enamel ring is in the shape of a Georgian ring as it curves around the finger. This curve makes the ring extremely comfortable. The diamonds are foiled in closed back settings. The similarity to Georgian rings ends there as it is not as subtle, brighter and has strong contrast between the enamel and diamonds. The diamond center is eye candy with a tulip above and below the center stone. The gold around the diamonds is 18 Kt white gold and the shank and. back are 18 Kt yellow. The diamonds are brilliant and to the eye appear to be much more than the .30 its I approximate. They look more like 1ct. weight 11.4 grams A very pretty ring on the finger for those to whom jewelry need not be antique to be lovely. I am wearing it as I describe it to you and admire it more with each look. Such a pretty thing.Current size is 4 1/2. I can be sized. Perfect condition English hallmark

Most antique rings were created by skilled artisans who meticulously handcrafted each piece. This level of craftsmanship allowed for intricate designs that were often time-consuming to produce. This includes filigree work, hand-chasing, granulation (tiny metal bead-work), and hand-piercing to create delicate openwork patterns. The emphasis on hand-made production is a hallmark of the era’s jewels. Antique rings were typically made from both gold and silver. The jewelers noticed that diamonds look whiter when set in white metal and not in yellow. The white gold was not invented back then yet and platinum was too hard for jewelry tools...
