About the Item
This handmade silver ring from the 1960s-1970s features a substantial fresh water pearl -most likely from Lake Biwa in Japan, along with a round peridot gemstone that measures 9.8mm and weighs appriximately 3.5 carats. The peridot has a lush, pleasing green color. The baroque cultured freshwater pearl is high-quality: a silvery bluish-white that measures approximately 14.64mm north to south, 12.37mm west to east.
The silver mounting has an Art Nouveau vibe; organic, natural forms. On the rear of the ring is a slit: this allows the peridot to be cleaned. A very thoughtful design element.
The ring is a size 9.5 and has never been resized. This suggests it was originally created for a man, but of course anyone could wear it. And your jeweler can resize it for you if needed. The interior is marked "STERLING" and has a maker's mark I cannot decipher.
Gorgeous and unique, a statement ring you just don't see every day.

Seafoam green was pointedly on-trend in the 1950s when this ring was hand-fabricated. The pearls surrounding the jade are at least partially drilled —possibly they are drilled all the way through; I can't tell because of how they are set in the mounting.
