C1900 14K Lapis Lazuli Monogrammed Signet Ring "CW" with Carved Shoulders
About the Item
With its openwork shoulders of carved flowers and leaves that culminate into a reeded band, this 14K monogrammed signet ring is particularly enchanting. The monogrammed letters "CW" are engraved in Columbia lettering, which relates perfectly to the stylized band and was clearly chosen by the engraver with care.
Every plane of this ring has some form of neoclassical embellishment, including the crown of the ring with its geometric patterns and the tiny gold balls that adorn the outer edges of the band. Despite the neoclassical flourishes, our ring is fully of the Victorian era, with its emphasis on flowery romanticism and sentimentality.
The ring is stamped 585k for 14K indicating European origin.
