Roman Celtic God Toutatis Amuletic silver ring, circa 2nd-4th Century AD.

About the Item

Roman Celtic God Toutatis amuletic silver ring. Engraved horizontally to the centre with an oval ropework border encompassing the letters 'TOT' abbreviated from the Celtic god Toutatis, flanked by broad integrated shoulders which flow through to a tapering D-shape shank. Tested silver, approximately 6.50 grams in weight, circa 2nd-4th century AD. The Celtic god Toutatis was worshipped in ancient Gaul and Britain, and was associated with the Roman gods Mars and Mercury.
