About the Item

Old European Ring, Renaissance styled with parts in solid 18k Yellow Gold and Silver. Openwork dome shaped crown 21 mm x 10 mm deep consisting of 3 circular tiers of Silver clusters holding 25 rose cut Diamonds. Such cluster rings were very popular and common from the 18th century to the early 20th. The specific design makes such rings quite wear and damage - and damage-resistant and suitable for everyday wear. No clear hallmarks except worn 18K. The largest Diamond in the center ca. Ø 3.5 mm /0.21 ct. Second tier/ circle Ø 14mm built of eight clusters with medium - sized rose cut stones ca. Ø 3 mm / 0.15ct each. The first ground or tier circle is Ø 21 mm and is built of sixteen clustered diamonds / ca. Ø 2.5 mm / 0.08 ct each. Thus total weight of Diamonds involved ca. 2.7 ctw. All Diamonds have backs closed and foiled underneath. Size: Ø US 6 / 16.51 mm, traces of old sizing visible. Sizing is possible. Weight: 10 grams. Nice used condition. It is often difficult or impossible to get an accurate characteristics of the weight , color and nature of inclusions without removing the stones from the settings to be weighed and examined and doing that may damage the piece.
