About the Item
Two platinum set sapphire eternity bands snuggle up to a platinum set brilliant cut diamond band of G color S1 clarity. The diamond ring is approximately .40 cts. The sapphire bands together are about 1.10 cts. The sapphire stones look perfect to the eye but under a microscope are scratched. The diamond band is perfect.
These rings became popular in 1960 when DeBeers dubbed them Eternity Bands symbolizing eternal love. Their history far precedes this period. It goes far back to 2000 BC. They originated in ancient Egypt and were adopted in Rome. They have always meant eternal love.
Eternity bands are gifted for weddings and anniversaries. The sapphires are size 5 1/2. the diamond band is size 8 3/4 and is kept in place by its kissing cousins. Weight 7.9 grams
