On offer is this gorgeous 15CT SOLID GOLD LARGE POCKETWATCH KEY CHARM FOB DETAILS Material: 15ct (625/000) Solid Rosey Yellow Gold Style: Victorian classic pocketwatch fob set with gemstone intaglio to the end. Gemstones: Flat, unengraved intaglio panel of white Onyx (Sardonyx) Age: Antique Early Victorian (c1850s) Condition: Excellent for age, lovely engraved detail. The key is in good order and still fully useable. Fastening: Thick bale loop on spinner, could be used as a fob or pendant. Hallmark: Old UK 15ct assayed and fully tested / guaranteed (see below) Origin: UK DIMENSIONS Length: 35.5mm Width (across intaglio): 10.5 mm Weight: 3.1 grams total Other Info: Very striking, well made. The piece originates from the UK. A truly outstanding piece of handmade Victoriana. Important info about Victorian jewellery: Many pieces such as this were made long before the Hallmarking Act came into force and though we have been hallmarking items in the UK since the 1300s this was not the norm until recently. Many items were handmade by the "family jeweler" and never went off to be assayed. Anything made pre 1920 does not need to be hallmarked by law.
