A Rare 18CT Gold Enamel Special Grade Diamond-Set Antique Hunter Pocket Watch Signed Waltham Mass Circa. 1898 - only 8 of this model type are known to exist. A truly exquisite beautiful antique pocket watch and a rare find! This Waltham pocket watch is listed as a special grade 18CT Gold, hunter pocket watch with a stunning gilt, diamond and unusual red enamel cover. Signed Waltham on the face with a second-hand aperture. Diameter 30 mm. movement marked American, Waltham, Mass. This stunning pocket watch is registered as a Jewel Series model size with 15 Jewels Special Grade. Movement – the high-grade bridge movement has train wheels, 15 gold jewel settings, a lever escapement and a micrometre regulator. The movement is decorated with a curved pattern and is signed Waltham, Mass, Riverside, Adjusted” Serial No. 10004234 and is in prime condition. Case – exquisitely designed and crafted in 18ct gold, with gilt scrolling movement, laced with intricate diamonds and a red enamel cover. The front of the inner case with a beautifully painted enamel scene of a cherub holding a garland of flowers and a bow, possibly Cupid, within a scrolling diamond border around a set of cut diamonds. The outer case with a repouseé classical design. Dial – under gold cuvette, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, subsidiary seconds the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a complete set of spade hands. The dial is signed “Waltham.” The watch measures 30mm wide x 15mm deep. ------------------------------ Condition Report: Very good condition! Hairline crack to the glass as depicted.
