"Hydrangeas on the Table, " Still Life Oil Painting
By John C. Traynor
Located in Westport, CT
This impressionistic still life painting by Jon Traynor captures a wooden table top surface with an assortment of root vegetables and a porcelain vase filled with a bouquet of flowers. The painting overall features a warm, earthy palette which gives the sense of a warm glow being cast over the scene. The painting itself is 20" x 24" and 28" x 32" framed. It is professionally framed in an antiqued gold-hued frame. It is signed by the artist in the lower right-hand corner, and is wired and ready to hang. John C. Traynor's painting style is reminiscent of some 19th century painters and the Dutch Masters. He uses his knowledge of light and color to create a certain mood in each of his works. The creation of atmosphere is an important element in Traynor's paintings. Painting outdoors, on location, is a prime source of inspiration and ideas for his landscapes. John travels extensively, painting the landscapes around him. John was born in 1961 and spent his early years in Chester and Mendham, New Jersey. His art studies began at Delbarton School in Morristown, New Jersey, and from there he furthered his education at Paier College of Art in New Haven, Connecticut. He studied figure painting at the Art Students League of New York, as a merit scholar, with Frank Mason. Traynor continued his studies in Vermont with Mr. Mason on landscape painting, drawing with Carroll N. Jones Jr. of Stowe, Vermont and sculpture with Brother Jerome Cox...

Night Season (Impressionistic Oil Painting of Tiger Striped Cat on a Porch)
By David Konigsberg
Located in Hudson, NY
56 x 58 x 2 inches oil on canvas, white wood frame Through expressionistic gestures and a sophisticated handling of paint, David Konigsberg's works take on a life of their own, so that even inanimate objects seem filled with energy and intent. This painting captures a delightful scene of a lazy cat taking a nap in the abundant late afternoon light on a porch. David Konigsberg is a conceptual realist who works across media and painting genres to portray transitional spaces, metaphoric moments and alternative histories. A long-time member of the Gowanus and Red Hook artist communities in Brooklyn, he is now based in Hudson and employs the area's landscapes as the setting and sometimes subject of his work. The artist’s work has been exhibited throughout out the United States and has been featured in The New York Times, Chronogram and Brooklyn Journal and numerous art and culture blogs. "Red Shoes" (2024) By Nadezda, Original Surrealist Oil Portrait Painting
Located in Denver, CO
Nadezda's beautiful new oil on panel painting "Red Shoes" (2024) is a surrealist portrait of a young woman wearing a Russian dress, posed impossibly among a strange arrangement of objects at varying perspectives. Among these are living things like a spirit resting on the bed, and a small humanoid figure wearing a mask. Nadezda is a painter, sculptor, photographer, and concept artist. Her artwork is focused on narratives carefully gathered from the hidden chambers of her imagination as well as live theater-inspired work with actors, dancers, and models. Like a quilt stitched of poetic realities, Nadezda’s mysterious world defies the mundane. With a non-linear creative process flowing between different media, the artist explores various vantage points in her creations. This dynamic approach inspires her mind’s eye to focus on the worlds within and evoke an uninterrupted, creative transmission which is then channeled through her paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, writing and film. Berry's Bay (20.11.18) - Large Original Maritime Boat Oil Painting on Canvas
By Sally West
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This original coastal painting by Sally West features textured impasto boats floating in a serene blue harbor, making it a perfect choice for collectors seeking contemporary seascape art with nautical charm. Using her signature palette knife technique, West captures the peaceful rhythm of boats bobbing on still waters with thick, expressive strokes and a soft, sunlit palette. The composition evokes a sense of quiet leisure and breezy summer afternoons, offering a tranquil escape through layered oil textures and minimalistic detail. What makes Sally West’s original oil paintings so recognizable is the combination of texture, abstraction, and calming colors. The movement of her paint strokes on canvas is reminiscent of a light breeze or waves. Each painting is completed in one day, with the date present in the title. West's textural pieces take at least eight weeks to completely dry. Once dry, the thick paint takes on an almost sculptural effect. Overall, West’s color palette is uniquely her own, conveying a very specific feeling of comfort associated with familiarity and softness. This large, one-of-a-kind 39-inch high by 59-inch wide artwork is painted with thick, textural oil paint on canvas. It is wired and ready to hang. It is signed by the artist on the front lower right corner as well as the back. The sides of this artwork are painted, and it is ready to hang. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by Artplex Gallery is included. Sally West was born in West Wyalong, Central New South Wales. West grew up on a farm and, as a teenager, moved to Eastern Sydney for school. Throughout her life, she has traveled through and lived in both Europe and South East Asia to gain inspiration for her artwork. Although her international journeys have influenced her style, the subjects of her paintings are very close to home. The subjects of all of her paintings exist in an infinite timeline inspired by her location in Eastern Australia. Since West’s first breakthrough solo exhibition in New York in 2011, her artworks have become highly sought after internationally. She has won and placed as a finalist in numerous worldwide art competitions and juried exhibitions throughout her career. Her artworks are exhibited in influential galleries across Australia and the USA and are included in significant art collections around the globe. Artplex Gallery has been representing and exhibiting Sally West's original artworks since 2019. Artspace Warehouse, a partner gallery of Artplex Gallery, has been a 1stdibs partner since 2014 with consistently excellent reviews from clients worldwide.
