Family Home by Mona Hajj Interiors in Baltimore, MD

The home was originally the guest house of a larger, 38-room estate that is now the elite St. Timothy Boarding School for Girls. The property was designed and built by L.H Fowler, a classically trained architect, in the early 1900's When Hajj was brought on board for the major renovation, she sought to preserve the integrity of the original design while bringing it up to date for 21st Century living. The original layout needed considerable reconfiguration to accommodate contemporary needs, and Hajj, lauded for her masterful juxtaposition of colors and intricate textures, created an intriguing visual dialogue that shines throughout the project. The mixing of old and new in both architecture and interiors is purposeful, but not binding.
