Connecticut Residence
Family Home by Sandra Nunnerley Inc. in -

A series of owners had transformed this 1930's country house into a jarring pastiche of architectural styles. The firm unified the home by restoring traditional elements and proportions to the rooms: an inviting conservatory with a coffered ceiling was added off the living room, and the vaulted master bedroom was made intimate by wrapping the walls in hand-painted paper. At the same time, the interior is at once classic and contemporary, thanks to modern elements such as sisal rugs, a deeply tufted leather ottoman, and artwork by Chuck Close and Joel Shapiro.
