Pacific Heights, Clay Street

The design for this apartment marries French and Scandinavian styles. The high ceilings and wall moldings bring to mind Parisienne apartments, but the modern furnishings and clean layout are more in keeping with design found in Copenhagen. On the one hand, the Danish-inspired decor demanded simple pops of color, so we were very intentional with each piece and color we picked and placed. However, on the other hand, we didn't want the home to feel too minimalist -- that's not really a home -- so we also made sure to keep the space warm by adding lots of textures in the upholstery to evoke the famous "Hygge" concept that can't quite be translated, but can be contently and cozily enjoyed.
