River House

Family Home by Fern Santini, Inc. in US

Built among the pecan trees and wildflowers that grow on the banks of the Colorado River outside of Houston, this project was conceived as a modern pastoral home for a young family. Stellar architecture from Michael G. Imber, Architects fully realized the aesthetic tradition of the rural South in the 1920s. Among the many details are multiple exterior brick porches, bright double-hung windows that stretch low to the ground, and unique transoms above the many French doors. The interior furnishings are meant to be mix of periods that evoke a comfortable, inviting environment that is both beautiful and durable enough for small children.
