Traditional Home Cover Story

Located on a lush two-acre lot in the Chastain Park neighborhood of Buckhead, GA, designer Susan Jamieson created an open, light-filled home where its young family of four would have ample space to connect while letting the spectacular grounds shine. The homeowners' love of uncluttered, modern spaces and understated glamour also drove the overall design. Jamieson collaborated with architect, Peter Block, to create clean-lined details that would not block or compete with the stunning grounds or sky. Natural light floods in from at least two sides in every major room. A modernized, old-world grand hall opens directly into the dining area, giving it views to the park as well as the arch-framed grand staircase. The kitchen and living room capture the sunset over the expansive rear garden. Marmarino Venetian Plaster walls throughout the ground floor, hallways and stairwells add depth and warmth.
