West Hollywood Pied-a-Terre

Apartment by Nate Berkus Associates in West Hollywood, CA

Only in Hollywood would you find a kitchen that resembled the starship Enterprise‘s command center (the apartment used to belong to the set designer for Star Trek!). This was the starting point for Nate and his design team as they reimagined the space, taking it from dated to modern and livable. The clients, international businessmen, aimed to create an elegant pied-a-terre in Los Angeles as a launching point for their global travels. The apartment had to be as hardworking as they are, and provide a soft place to land. One of the biggest challenges in the small 985-square foot space: storage, or lack thereof. Drawing inspiration from a ship’s cabin, Nate created clever and stylish storage solutions for the couple. After working with many vintage and antiques dealers from all over the globe, the end result feels well-traveled, eclectic and unique.
