About the Artist:
Lynn R. Wolfe was born in 1917 in Red Cloud, Nebraska, and passed away in 2019 in Boulder, Colorado. A gifted and multifaceted artist, Wolfe was known for his work in both realistic and abstract styles, as well as his contributions to modernist sculpture and stained glass. He studied at the University of Nebraska and later at the University of Colorado, where he earned a Master's degree in Fine Arts. Wolfe was also a decorated veteran of World War II, and throughout his life, he developed a deep interest in archaeology, landscape, and the arts.
Wolfe's style evolved from representational works in his early years to more abstract compositions later in his career. He created a variety of art forms, including paintings, sculptures, mosaics, and stained glass windows, contributing to both private and public collections. His work is featured in many prominent galleries, including the University of Colorado Fine Arts Gallery and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
This abstract watercolor painting embodies Wolfe's exploration of vibrant color contrasts and organic forms, making it a standout piece for collectors of modern American art.
