This artwork "Landscape with Boat and House, California" is a watercolor by California artist Catherine Rubino Eaton Baca, 1907-1978. It is hand signed and dated at the lower right corner by the artist. The image size is 17 x 23 inches, framed size is 25 x 31 inches. Framed in original dark wood and gold frame. It is in very good condition. About the artist: Born in Oakland, CA on Jan. 18, 1907. Catherine Rubino studied at the CCAC and with Phil Paradise. She was a resident of Oakland and active in the San Francisco Bay area through the early 1960s. After the death of her husband, Chelsey Eaton, she wed Antonio Baca in the 1950s. She later moved to Taos, NM where she remained until her demise on Oct. 13, 1978. Exh: SF Women Artists; Oakland Art Gallery, 1945, 1953 (solo); Santa Cruz, 1948; American WC Society and Calif. WC Society, 1948-53; PAFA, 1949-52; Pasadena Art Inst., 1952.

Horse in the fields, a figurative watercolor landscape by Louis John Stellman (American, 1877-1961), c.1935. Presented in a wooden frame with linen liner. Signed "Stellman" lower right. Image size, 15"H x 19"W. Stellman moved to CA in 1901. By 1920 he had settled in San Francisco where he worked both as an artist and a writer for the Call-Bulletin newspaper.
