About the Item

A fine early 19th Century portrait in conte and sanguine. The young lady has beautifully curled, dark hair and gently holds a graceful turtle dove to her chest as she smiles coyly over her shoulder. The artist has signed to the lower edge and the portrait is on laid with the "De Bois" watermark. The portrait has been handsomely presented in a late 19th Century Hogarth style frame with internal gilt slip. On watermarked laid.
