Signed lower right, 'Betsy Dillard Stroud' (American, 20th century) and painted circa 2000. Betsy Dillard Stroud, AWS, NWS, grew up in Rocky Mount, Virginia with a family straight from the pages of Tennessee Williams and Noel Coward and began painting at the age of eight. She is a signature member and Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society, a signature member of the National Watercolor Society in California and member of numerous prestigious art societies including the Rocky Mountain Watermedia Honor Society, the Western Federation of Watercolor Society, and a former president of the Southwestern Watercolor Society. Stroud was one of 28 American artists from the United States who was invited to exhibit in Nanjing, China in the First International Exhibition of Watermedia Masters in November, 2007.
