Vibrant mid-century watercolor still-life of bright pink roses with petals falling on the table by Celia B. Michelena (American/Mexican, 1910-2006). Signed "Celia B. Michelena" lower right. Presented in a gold colored frame. Image Size: 24" X 18"Presented in a dark wood frame.
Celia B. Michelena (American/Mexico, 1910-2006). Born in Mexico, Celia moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in the late 1920s where she met her husband from Spain and had two children. She resided in Emeryville, California. She was a very active painter in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, participating in many Bay Area shows and art clubs. Her preferred subjects were portraits, nudes, still lifes, and coastal scenes. She was also a member of the Society of Western Artists.
Exhibits: M.H. de Young Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park.
