This hand signed monograph makes a terrific gift! Judy Chicago signed this book for the present owner. This beautiful hardback monograph, "Deflowered" (a sequel, if you will, to Chicago's groundbreaking 1970s autobiography "Through the Flower") was published on the occasion of an eponymous exhibition at Nye + Brown in Los Angeles that focused on Judy Chicago's early drawings, painting and sculptures from the 1960s and 1970s. The text of this book is by Tim Nye, Lexi Brown, Lucy Lippard and Saul Ostrow. The photographs are by Donald Woodman as well as Robert Wedemeyer. This over-sized book has 155 pages and numerous full page color illustrations and photographs of some of Judy's iconic works. The dust jacket itself has some age wear and scuffing, but the interior pages are bright and crisp and in excellent condition with no markings whatsoever. A rare, desirable and highly collectible when hand signed by artist. A must have for any Judy Chicago fan. The last end page included a DVD of three of her Atmosphere performances, which also date from this time. This book were printed by the Asia Pacific Offset. Makes a terrific gift.

Judy Chicago
Judy Chicago (born 1939) is an American feminist artist, art educator, and writer known for her large collaborative art installation pieces about birth and creation images, which examine the role of women in history and culture. Chicago's work incorporates a variety of artistic skills, such as needlework, counterbalanced with labor-intensive skills such as welding and pyrotechnics. Chicago's most well known work is The Dinner Party, which is permanently installed in the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum. Her work is in the collections of the British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), National Gallery (Washington DC), LACMA, Hammer Museum, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Tate Modern.
