About the Item

Juan F. Sepulveda Rooster Realism oil framed 16" x 14" barnyard farm 8" x 10" $1270 animal Juan F. Sepulveda has always been attracted animals with horns. Goats and sheep are almost animals in abstraction. Their heads can be oddly shaped and vary widely in their horns, fur, and eyes. They possess unique personalities. Artist Bio Juan F. Sepulveda is a Mexican-born artist based in Aurora, Illinois. His artistic journey began at a young age and has evolved from graphite drawings to pastels, ultimately developing into a deep passion for oil painting. While studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Juan experimented with color, composition, and various mediums, further refining his artistic vision. Juan is currently working on two distinct painting series. Nostalgia is a figurative collection that blends modern art elements, vibrant colors, and floral motifs on large canvases. The second series focuses on traditional depictions of farm animals, particularly sheep and goats. A long-time resident of Aurora, Juan is inspired by the city’s diverse community, especially its youth. He has volunteered his time to teach drawing at a local elementary school and the public library, sharing his artistic expertise and engaging with the community. Biography Juan F. Sepulveda II was born in 1986 in the city of Ocotlan, Mexico. By the age of three his family had immigrated to the United States where they resided in San Fernando, California. Later the Sepulveda family moved to Illinois where they settled in the city of Aurora. It is in Aurora where Juan grew up and discovered his love for the arts. Juan is a graduate from The Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in painting. At present Juan is working on ideas and paintings that portray the satirical and humoristic aspect of life. He uses the human figure or portrait to express concepts that can be universal and at times harsh and blunt. Juan’s last set of paintings dealt with a darker mindset and color palette. Traveling has always been a passion and dream for Juan. When as a child, Juan imagined a life of exploration and adventure finding an escape in his art and the images of National Geographic Magazine. Now at the age of 25 Juan has traveled to South America, Central America, Europe, South East Asia and throughout the United States and Canada. Juan hopes to further visit and experience different cultures and environments in order to expand his knowledge of life and thus mature as an artist. Juan has been focusing on the figure in his works. He uses this universal subject to portray the beauty and horrid aspects of humanity. His paintings evoke a sense of drama and even a comedic poise that dwells with satire and innocence.
