About the Item

Landscape of Auvergne, France. View from my studio. The dominating sky occupies the majority of the canvas, enveloping us in its immensity. The large format of the canvas provides an immersive dimension, with its imposing cloud masses that seem in perpetual motion. Through the vividness of my brushstroke, I have attempted to express both the density and lightness of the visible reality. The mountains, grazing the lower limit of the canvas, offer a grounded stability amidst the aerial dynamics. Their dark and calm silhouette is wrapped in subtle shadows, accentuating the depth and serenity of the scene. The fields and meadows below, painted in verdant and golden hues, celebrate the wealth and diversity of the rural landscape. This painting speaks of continuity and the ephemeral, of the sky that continuously changes and the earth that remains. There is a discreet poetry at work here, an invitation to contemplation. This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity. /!Please note that this painting will be shipped rolled without stretcher frame (not ready to hang). :: Painting :: Fine Art :: This piece comes with an official certificate of authenticity signed by the artist :: Ready to Hang: No :: Signed: Yes :: Signature Location: on the front :: Canvas :: Landscape :: Original :: Framed: No

Entering the Living Room
Located in Greenwich, CT
A very striking and expressive work in terms of color! This has a contemporary and upbeat feel and attractiveness to the abstracted female form coming into a room. Would brighten and bring any room into the contemporary realm and bring a very fresh dash of vivid color. Ralph Della-Volpe was a noted Post - War artist who started out with the Abstract Expressionists and then like Milton Avery and Wolf Kahn and others - chose to revert back to bringing some representational form back into his work. Color was his driving passion and he often used high keyed...

In the middle of the road
By Dana Frankfort
Located in Houston, TX
Dana Frankfort In the middle of the road, 2017 oil on canvas over panel 48 x 48 x 1.75 inches For over two decades, Dana Frankfort has explored the vexing periphery between language and sight by painting words. Rather than laying claim to the paintings, controlling their semiotic pulse, her words serve as the formal armature; they prop up, ventilate, and allow the many layers of paint to breathe. Imperatives, allusions, evocations—the words dissolve into a palimpsest of obscured serifs and stems, into color and form. The title of the work is a phrase from a poem by Carlos Drummond de Andrade’s “In the Middle of Road.” Here it is, translated from the Portuguese by Elizabeth Bishop...
