About the Item
Artist Commentary
This painting was on display during the East Austin Studio tour. It is #2 of my "Vexation" painting series. The first painting was just vines, this (the second) one has leaves, the third had roses and the fourth is winter. It took me a great deal of time to paint all of the leaves. I love this painting because of the female imagery and ambiguous space I created. I've been told that this painting reminds them of Magritte's surreal paintings.
