About the Item

Very well executed original oil on canvas painting of a busy street scene in Montmartre, Paris. The scene is Rue Norvins with Sacre-Coeur in the background. Signed by the artist lower left. Titled on stretcher verso. Circa 1950. Condition is very good. The painting is housed in its original frame of chestnut wood with wide gold liner. Overall framed measurements are 21.5 by 23.5 inches. Provenance: A Osprey, Florida collector. Krafft, Andre (Born, Paris, 1911-1986). A French twentieth century painter Andre Krafft studied art techniques in Paris. He began exhibiting his art there in the 1930's. At the end of the Second World War (1945), Andre Krafft concentrated almost exclusively on scenes of Paris and its environs, in both oil and watercolor.
