Landmark
By Bruce Richards
Located in San Francisco, CA
Artist: Bruce Richards – American (1948-)
Title: Landmark
Year: 1989
Medium: Oil on canvas
Size: 62 x 36 inches.
Framed size: 64 x 38 inches
Signature: Signed, dated, titled en verso
Condition: Very good
This painting has a wonderful presence. I believe it is from Richards’ “Change in the Weather Series”. The sky and the figure in the painting change in various paintings in the series. This is a relatively peaceful figure (sword at side) and fair sky (blue, no clouds). Other works from this series are more turbulent. Richards is an uncommon artist whose work is both conceptually and aesthetically engaging. The sky in this painting has a beautiful luminosity and depth. The painting measures 62” x 36” (64” x 38” framed). It is composed of oil on canvas and is in very good condition. The frame is also in good condition and works well with the painting.
