About the Item

While I Wait is an original painting by Joseph Christian Ekom-Obong. Joseph created While I Wait with Oil on a 36W by 48H inches primed canvas. The artwork titled "While I Wait" depicts a black young lady who is expectant of love and all the good things that come with it. The artwork is a beautiful representation of hope, patience, and the human desire for companionship and love. The artwork features a young woman standing in the center of the canvas, with her eyes opened and her arms slightly extended as if she is waiting to be embraced by someone. She is dressed in a simple yet elegant dress, which symbolizes her purity and innocence. Her hair is styled in a natural Afro, which adds to the authenticity and realism of the artwork. The artist has used a warm color palette in the background, which creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere. The use of warm colors such as orange and yellow also symbolizes love, passion, and warmth, which are all the emotions that the young lady is waiting to experience. One of the most striking features of the artwork is the expression on the young lady's face. She has a serene and peaceful expression, which indicates that she is content and at peace with herself. However, there is also a hint of anticipation and longing in her eyes, which reveals that she is waiting for someone special to come into her life. The title of the artwork, "While I Wait," adds to the emotional depth of the piece. It suggests that the young lady has been waiting for a long time and that she is willing to wait patiently for as long as it takes to find the love and happiness that she desires. The artwork is a beautiful representation of the human experience of longing and waiting for love. It is a universal theme that is relevant to people of all ages and backgrounds. Joseph Christian Ekom-Obong has captured this theme with great skill and sensitivity, creating an artwork that is both visually stunning and emotionally moving. In conclusion, the artwork titled "While I Wait" is a beautiful and poignant representation of the human experience of waiting for love. The young lady in the artwork is a symbol of hope, patience, and the unending desire for companionship and love. The artwork is a powerful reminder that no matter how long we have to wait, love is always worth waiting for.
