Artist biography:
Born: Lancaster, England 1975 Lives: Dunfermline, Scotland Education Gray’s School of Art, Robert Gordons University BA (Hons) Fine Art 1995 – 99 Kelly-Anne Cairns graduated from Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen, in 1999. She is based in Dunfermline, Fife, where she works from her studio at home. The human form is her main inspiration – she aims to capture emotions, movement and moments in time. She recreates the subtle skin tones of the figures which are enveloped in sumptuous colours – creating calm, atmospheric paintings. She has exhibited regularly across Scotland, London, New York and Amsterdam. Her portraits have been included in the BP Portrait Awards and The Scottish Portrait Awards. She was selected as an artist for Sky Portrait Artist of the Year, March 2020.
