About the Item
Magnificence III & Kyoto VII Landscape – Silver Pavilion is a unique installation of two works by contemporary Franco-Japanese artist Lumi Mizutani.
The artworks are signed and come with a certificate of authenticity.
The series includes: Magnificence III (2021) and Kyoto VII Landscape- Silver Pavilion (2020). The artist employs techniques such as India ink, Japanese pigments and gold leaves on Japanese cardboard.
In this group of figurative works, Lumi Mizutani pays tribute to the landscapes of Japan. Through her paintings, she elevates these places by capturing them in different seasons and times of day. Plum and cherry blossoms, pine trees, and weeping willows are recurring motifs—nature and trees play a central role in her artistic expression. The series is especially notable for its use of India ink combined with colored pigments, with a dominant presence of gold, copper and silver leaves.
The overall dimensions of the installation correspond to the layout shown in the first image (29.8 × 53.4 cm - 11.7 × 21.0 in). The set is composed of two artworks, each measuring 24 x 27 cm unframed and 29,8 x 26,7 cm framed.

Lumi Mizutani
Painter and lithographer, Lumi Mizutani draws her inspiration from traditional Chinese and Japanese painting techniques. Her ink drawings and her paintings extend this tradition, and, through constant experimentation, carry her towards new horizons. For a few years now Lumi Mizutani’s work has revolved around the duality between abstract and figurative, black and colour, the spontaneity of the gesture (the ink painting) and the patient composition work (the painting with pigment). Thanks to these antagonisms she finds the necessary and complementary resources to express herself. “I felt the desire to introduce colors, especially Japanese color pigments, familiar to my childhood. Japanese painting thus entered my artistic expression and my life. While respecting the ancestral techniques and codes, I strive to create a personal and contemporary footprint that challenges the viewer by the emotion it arouses.“
