About the Item

He made the decision to go closer after hearing a disturbing noise coming from the upper room. When he arrived, he carefully pulled back the green curtain at the enormous room's entrance to reveal a frantic scene. He was so shocked that he had to hold back his screams while holding his mouth shut with his left hand. It was impossible for him to say anything other than "God abeg. Too scared and frightened to speak to us about what he had seen. But we can assure you that we are aware of what he saw and can even feel it. It's the " STATE OF THE NATION". Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria This work is unique, not a print or other type of copy. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity (Issued by the Gallery) About Artist Omoyemi Ogedengbe was born in the Ogun state in western Nigeria. He exhibit his great interest in art during the early stage of his life and had his first formal art lesson where he won his first prize in a state art competition while in high school. A graduate of fine and applied arts from the federal college of Education and further bagged a bachelor of art degree in painting from the University of Lagos. He is a very dedicated contemporary Nigerian artist, humanist, and environmentalist who now works in his studio full-time. Omoyemi is an anthropomorphic artist, which is "the art of referring to something that isn't human but acts like it is." His work only shows great apes like orangutans, gorillas, gibbons, chimpanzees, and bonobos. He painted them realistically as the old masters did in a style that is mostly based on baroque art, which is known for its great drama, rich, deep colors, and intense light and dark shadows. His anthropomorphic/apes artworks are based on real-life events in Africa and the world in general. He is mostly concerned with rebranding and editing the black-and-white story by bringing them from every continent into the spotlight, addressing the problems and challenges they face, and creating positive images that will serve as a guide for the new generations both born and yet-to-be-born. His art is made to give a voice to people who don't have the power to speak out in public about sensitive human issues, which he then skillfully modeled as figurative apes and anthropomorphism. When asked why he painted apes to look like humans. He says, "I need some attention from my people to get the messages I'm trying to send, the messages of being curious about us and our environment. I think using apes as a model to talk will do the job perfectly since they are humans' close cousins." Omoyemi's work has been admired and collected by well-known art experts and private collectors.

Arise!!!
Located in Ibadan, Oyo
Nigerians arise, brothers and sisters that believe in the union called Nigeria, ARISE!!! The green-white-green t-shirt has turned to rag on us, let us let go of any excuses to keep folding our arms when we can certainly unfold it and un-tape the sellotape in our mouth. Let us emancipate ourselves from (mental, religious, and tribal) slavery, no one but ourselves can free our minds! Let us serve our fatherland with love in the little way we can and stop following our leaders who want to divide us because of their selfish gain. While we arise to unfold our arms and un-tape the sellotape on our mouth, let us speak up, Let us preach love, not hatred, tolerance, not intolerance, peace and not violence, revolution not crises. However, his true passion lies in abstract expression, where he seeks to promote African art, culture, and nature. Influenced by his artist father, he paints to preserve memories and connect with broader societal concerns. Abiodun's artistic style is characterized by the abstraction and simplification of human compositions. He employs vibrant oil colors, often focusing on primary colors that transition into secondary and tertiary hues. His subjects stand out against neutral backgrounds, creating a harmonious balance in his paintings. A prominent feature in his works is the use of red, blue, and yellow tones, subtly blended to emphasize form and shape. His artistic journey includes training under renowned bead painting contemporary artist Jimoh Buraimoh...
