Richard Britell
Richard Britell, a career painter who studied at Pratt Institute with Philip Pearlstein and Walter Erlebacher from 1962–64. His first show in New York City at Staempfli Gallery was sold out and reviewed in the New York Times. Britell’s new works revolve around large, dreamy cityscapes tending toward abstraction. Britell currently lives in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and was born in Utica, New York, in 1944. From 1964–66, he studied at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NewYork, from 1970–72 he completed his BFA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
