Beautiful carved wooden frame from the 19th century
This anecdotal scene shows the restoration of Bretons near an open-air stall, perhaps a view from a village fair in Brittany. The scene is dated 1921 and it can be located in Brittany, probably in the Bigouden region in Cornouaille. The woman's headdress is particularly reminds of the women from Pont-Aven in Gauguin's paintings.
