A mid-century modernist style figurative painting that depicts a nude female figure by a bathtub, executed in oil onto canvas.
The subject is captured from the back, partially turned, evoking an intimate moment. Her posture suggests relaxation, and the towel she holds adds a subtle narrative, hinting at either preparation for or completion of bathing.
Modernist in its ethos with abstract qualities, there is a focus on the interaction between colour and form as opposed to realistic details. Through the use of a restrained palette and expressive brushwork, the artist has skilfully deconstructed the subject and background into simplified planes and shapes.
