About the Item
The Cave from the Okno is a painting created by Ukrainian artist Valeriya Shebelnichenko in 2023.
Acrylic on paper. Signed by hand. Very good condition.
"The Cave from the Okno" is a reworking of an artwork the artist painted in 2014. The original painting titled "The Cave" was the first painting Okno made after a near-death experience. It was the beginning of her current research, a visual summation of an experience that changed her life and painting style. After 10 years, the artist returns to paint the same cave, but in this case, her figure also appears in the painting. The painting shows the evolution of her journey and the healing taking place. The overwhelming shapes and curved lines accentuate the transportation and influence that experience still has on the artist. A work that completely transports one into another world.
This painting was made during a live performance at Spazio Garino (MAU - Museum of Urban Art) in Turin, during Okno and Antartico's bi-personal exhibition. It was entirely painted by left hand even if the artist is right handed.
Valeriya Shebelnichenko, aka Okno, was born in Ukraine in 1996. Painter and performer, she currently lives and works in the city of Turin, Italy.
She moved to Italy in 2004 and studied at the Art and Music High School in Forlì, obtaining her diploma in 2016. With her emotional approach to painting and performance, she manages to involve the viewers by making them part of her experiences.
Okno’s works have been shown in the cities of Venice, Milan, Turin, Pisa, Rimini, Forlí, Edinburgh, she arrived as a finalist in the Arte Laguna Prize and exhibited in the spaces of the Venetian North Arsenale. Her career, albeit young, denotes various collaborations, aimed at creating an artistic dialogue that involves multiple senses.

Serenity of Essence, Figurative original painting by Tetiana Pchelnykova
Located in Zofingen, AG
In my latest work from the 'Thoughts' series, titled 'Serenity of Essence', I once again delve into the profound world of feminine reflections. On this 60x80 cm canvas, painted with acrylics, I depicted a seated young woman with a cat resting beside her. This image creates an atmosphere of tranquility and deep contemplation, characteristic of my series.
The background of the painting reveals a view of hills and trees, the leaves of which are adorned with ornaments, adding sophistication to the composition. The symbol of infinity on the woman's shoulder is not just decorative; it symbolizes the endlessness of existence and unity with nature. The flowers and grasses in the meadow are depicted symbolically and graphically, creating a visual rhythm that engages and leads the viewer through various levels of perception.
'Serenity of Essence' is not just a painting; it is my perspective on feminine self-discovery and inner harmony. This canvas is an invitation for viewers to feel at one with nature, find peace in their thoughts, and discover the deep symbols of feminine existence. In this work, I once again demonstrate my vision and ability to transform philosophical themes into visual metaphors that resonate with the soul

Journey Home: Preserving Serenity, Figurative painting by Tetiana Pchelnykova
Located in Zofingen, AG
"Journey Home: Preserving Serenity" by Tetiana Pchelnikova is an embodiment of her continuous and profound contemplation of the role of women in society, expressed in visually rich works imbued with symbolism and philosophical resonance. This piece from her "Existence" series carries the magic of intuitive understanding of the feminine essence, intertwined with themes of eternity, self-identification, and a deep connection with nature.
In this work, Pchelnikova employs a mixed technique of acrylic paints and oil pastel graphics, creating a multi-layered visual language that embodies her vision. The canvas size of 50x50 cm with gallery stretching .
This piece deeply reflects the artist's philosophy, where the woman is seen as the conduit of noble strength from past generations and the creator of family strength. It portrays the woman's journey towards self-discovery and maintaining inner peace, despite the challenges of the external world.
Through her creation, Pchelnikova invites the viewer to reflect on the importance of connecting our past with the present, bridging tradition and innovation. This work opens a pathway to a deeper understanding of the modern world through the prism of philosophical ideas such as Existentialism and Phenomenology.
"Journey Home: Preserving Serenity" is not just aesthetically appealing but also a powerful medium for reflection, self-discovery, and dialogue with the world through art.
