About the Item
'The Potting Shed' is a vibrant and tranquil piece. Faulkner has captured the beautiful flowers perfectly and the light is almost dreamlike. An amazing still life that would make an amazing addition to any collection.
Born in Britain in 1952, Neil works in both watercolour and oil. As a young man he was taken to the Royal Academy to see an exhibition of paintings by Andrew Wyeth. From that day forward Neil has found him to be a constant inspiration. As an adult he travelled to America to see more of the Wyeth paintings.
From college Neil went to Wedgewood for a few years, then moved to Royal Doulton where he soon became a Senior Designer producing designs and paintings for their china. He was responsible for numerous commemorative projects including the Silver and Golden Jubilees of the Queen, the weddings of Charles and Lady Diana, Andrew and Sarah, for many of the royal births and the giftware commemorating the 80th, 90th and 100th birthdays of HRH Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
