Onelio painted this view of Central Park's Bethesda Fountain at the height of the growing season, when the aquatic plants were showing their rich textures and colors. "The fountain and steps behind it usually bustle with visitors, but in this case, the area was nearly deserted," says Onelio. "The viewer can enjoy the splendor of the plants and architecture unobstructed in this quiet scene, where the only movement and sound would be the cascading water and gentle ripples."

In an impressionistic style he captures the romanticism of New York City, the picturesque fountains in Central Park and the wet city streets after a rainy afternoon.
