Bio: Jasper Leadbeater is an entirely self-taught British artist whose distinctive medium has gained international recognition. With a background in fine art and a passion for drawing, he began his career producing pencil commissions, laying the foundations for what was to come. In 2014, curiosity led him to experiment with upcycled shotgun shells, resulting in his debut work, Ho Chi Minh, created under the theme of War and Peace. Over the years, he has refined this unique technique, blending intricately hand-drawn and hand-cut stencils with spray paint to transform reclaimed ammunition into striking works of art. Immersed in the British countryside, Jasper’s early collections drew inspiration from the traditional sport of game shooting, reimagined through contemporary animal portraiture. More recently, his focus has shifted toward bold pop culture references and cinematic icons, capturing their essence in a medium that juxtaposes the destructive with the creative. Jasper’s work has attracted an elite following — his very first collector was His Majesty the King of Bahrain — and his pieces are now sought after by private collectors worldwide.

Created entirely from upcycled shotgun shell casings, the portrait captures Arthur’s intense, brooding energy – whisky in hand, his gaze sharp, his presence unmistakable. The golden brass shell backdrop contrasts with the monochrome figure, lending depth and a raw industrial texture that echoes the grit of 1920s Birmingham and the dark, violent beauty of the Peaky Blinders universe. This piece is both a work of art and a homage to British television’s most notorious gangster family. Caine is Carter (Michael Caine - Get Carter)
Located in Manchester, GB
Jasper Leadbeater, Caine is Carter, 2024 Mixed media Edition of 12 58 x 70 cm (22.83 x 27.56 in) Sustainability has become the main drive behind the work I create, to make something unique out of what would otherwise be waste. Tens of thousands of shells are used on average per day, per shooting school across the whole of the UK. Due to the cost and lengthy procedure of separating the plastic from the metal, the spent shells are usually burnt, or put into landfill. A powerful homage to Michael Caine in his most iconic role as Jack Carter from the 1971 British gangster classic Get Carter. This bold portrait is crafted entirely from upcycled shotgun shell casings, forming a striking black-and-white image of Carter mid-action, gun drawn, eyes cold with vengeance. Set against a backdrop of gleaming brass shells and punctuated with the film’s bold yellow title text, this artwork is a masterful fusion of cinematic nostalgia and contemporary urban art. The recycled materials lend texture, weight, and meaning — turning weapons of violence into a tribute to British film history. Ideal for collectors of Michael Caine memorabilia, British noir, or industrial mixed media, this piece captures the ruthless charm and cool menace of a screen legend. This dynamic portrait is meticulously constructed from upcycled shotgun shell casings, arranged to capture O-Ren’s fierce expression and poised katana strike in vivid shades of pink, black, and silver. The transformation of reclaimed ammunition into a cinematic icon speaks to themes of strength, vengeance, and transformation—core to Tarantino’s masterpiece. The metallic sheen of the shell casings adds depth and texture, bringing the character’s intensity to life in a way that blends pop culture, urban art, and industrial craftsmanship.
