About the Item

This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. “Sunlight and Bluebells” by Jonathan Trim is a serene and captivating landscape painting that transports viewers into the heart of a tranquil forest scene. Executed with meticulous detail using acrylic on canvas, Trim’s unique artistic style infuses the scene with a sense of calm and wonder. At the center of the painting lies an open path, its surface adorned with blurred blue flecks that evoke the delicate beauty of bluebells. The misty texture of the path distorts the view, adding an ethereal quality to the scene. The path leads through the forest, with trees dotted into the background, creating a sense of depth and dimension. Above, the bright sky casts a spotlight that illuminates the path, leading the viewer’s eye across the canvas and into the depths of the forest. It is a serene and peaceful scene, devoid of any signs of urban life, allowing viewers to immerse themselves fully in the tranquility of nature. Signed by the artist in the corner, Trim’s signature serves as a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication to capturing the essence of the natural world. “Sunlight and Bluebells” is more than just a painting; it is a contemplative journey into the timeless beauty of the forest. “Sunlight and Bluebells” is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea, as well as online for those who wish to bring the tranquil beauty of the British countryside into their own homes. Artist biography: Jonathan Trim was born in 1948 in Leigh on Sea Essex by the Thames Estuary, an area that has always been a vital source of inspiration. Sketchbooks from early childhood show a fascination with light and water, which has made him the artist that he is. Jonathan studied Art at Southend School of Art and Leeds University/Huddersfield Polytechnic. Over the years he has established a reputation for paintings of atmospheric landscapes. Jonathan works from his studio near the Thames estuary often beginning the work out in the location. The environments of estuaries, rivers and the low lying wetlands of Britain and the landscape of France are his constant sources of inspiration. He spends time every summer painting in South West France. He has developed a deep awareness and intense relationship to these types of landscapes. His works are imbued with a deep sense of time and memory resulting in paintings that are rich in personal responses. His work is always about the spirit of the place and the feelings of connection and continuity. His painting methods frequently use textural materials from these areas which are embedded into the paint creating an interesting surface texture to the work. He applies colour using a wide variety of techniques to capture the flickering light and atmosphere of these locations. The paintings are about the ever changing qualities of light and the sounds and feelings of existing in these landscapes . Jonathan Trim’s paintings have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions. He has been featured in a variety of National Art magazines and he has received various awards and critical success. His work is collected by a large number of people in the UK and abroad.

Bluebells Woods 1, Impressionist Landscape Artwork, Original Floral Painting
By Rosemary Farrer
Located in Deddington, GB
Bluebell woods 1 is an original painting by Rosemary Farrer. At this time of year I head for the woods to paint the bluebells. The colours are very hard to capture, not quite purple, not quite blue, photographs don't quite do them justice. This is where a painting has an advantage over a photograph, a combination of cooler blues and warmer purples, side by side, mix optically and create a shimmering field of colour, flecks of lime green from the new beech leaves provide the perfect foil. Rosemary Farrer, artists and printmaker sells with Wychwood Art online and in our art gallery in Oxfordshire. Rosemary paints in oils and also makes original prints. The prints are in no way copies of the paintings, they are conceived of, and made, as a response to the special and wonderful effects that can be achieved only through the various techniques of printmaking, whether it be the graphic, dynamic marks of a linocut, or the subtle tones and textures achievable in aquatint and etching. Design, composition and the use of colour are what excite her. She spends a lot of time drawing and painting outside, back in the studio, she will distil these ideas into strong graphic woodcuts, and linos or subtly textured etchings. Recent monotypes draw together the threads of her different media, with their graphic shapes and rich painterly colours. She studied fine art at Camberwell School of Art and The Ruskin School of Drawing, and learned printmaking at Morley College [London]. She has exhibited prints...
