About the Item
“Tidal Motion" is inspired by the ferocity and grace of
the ocean. This seascape is a visceral exploration of twin forces, where
roiling waves weave a complex dance of destruction and creation upon the
jagged cliffs of the shore. Through interplay of colors and textures, the
artwork invites the viewer to witness the ceaseless push and pull of the
sea's heart, whispering ancient secrets to those who stop to listen.
Drenched in the blues of cascading waves, saturated teals flecked with
crests of white, the foreground evokes fluidity and motion. Textured
brushstrokes unfurl the story of water waging a timeless battle against the
rigid majesty of dark, weathered rocks.
Just beyond the chaos, subtler hues converge to form a distant horizon,
offering a tranquil counterpoint to the foreground's dynamic fervor.
Delicate gradations in the sky suggest the phantom whispers of calm amidst
the roaring symphony below, alluding to the perpetual cycle of turmoil and
peace that ebbs and flows with every tide.
This 8 inch by 10 inch artwork is painted on a ¼ inch panel. It is framed,
floating style, in a black wood frame. Framed dimensions are 9 x 11 x 1.25
inches.
Katherine Kean’s paintings seek moments of breath-taking transition in
nature; a gathering of clouds or changing tides; times when the elements of
the landscape combine with the alchemy of imagination to illuminate the

A quiet street of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico is the subject of this painting by Carole Garland. An elderly woman cautiously makes her way along a narrow path using a tree to lend support. The orange wall provides much needed shade in the afternoon heat. Light seeps through the branches of a colorful bougainvillea patterning the orange bulwark.
Artist Carole Garland who studied art in both San Miguel de Allende and Mexico City shares her appreciation of the simplicity of this quiet backstreet in a Mexican town. A special moment in time is brought to life. Garland uses the scumbling technique and a paint laden palette knife to achieve texture and depth in the leaves, the branches and the rough pavement of the street.
This oil on wood panel is 16"x20" and its natural wood sides serve as a frame. The painting is wired for easy hanging. This is a stand-alone artwork but was conceived as a companion piece to Orange Wall of San Miguel #1. Together they are 16"x 40".
