About the Item
“Vibrato” by artist Marcia Wise is a 20 x 24 x 1.5 inch oil painting on canvas from her abstract series in which mark making became more prominent. Dominant colors of yellows and blues visually combine in the many brush strokes of oranges, greens, light blues and lavender to produce a vibrato, or strong vibration of color interaction. The painting continues on all sides of the canvas so that it does not need a frame, yet can be framed if so desired. The artist has signed it on the front.
Marcia Wise is a Massachusetts-based contemporary oil painter and educator whose paintings are inspired by nature's landscape forms and patterns, light effects and reflections, and the play of textures. Her work has been exhibited and collected nationally and internationally. Wise is represented by Fountain Street Gallery based in Boston, MA.
