About the Item
In this work, a solitary figures stand grounded against a stark, muted background, gazing toward something unseen—something the viewer is left to imagine. Dressed in white, the figurines exudes an air of quiet contemplation, with closed eyes suggesting a vision that exists within rather than through direct sight.
The scene invites the viewer to ponder what lies is in front of these people, thus creating an emotional connection to the subject's inner world. Meanwhile, the horizon, an important dividing line in the painting, becomes almost neglected. However, it is the horizon that creates the impression of mystery. The simplicity of the scene invites to pause, absorb the stillness, and reflect on the emotional resonance of solitude.
Amílcar Rivera M. is a multidisciplinary artist who graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Universidad Veracruzana in Mexico and now lives and creates in Vilnius, Lithuania. His international experiences in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Spain, Lithuania, and the United States have deeply influenced his artistic vision. In 2018, he participated in an artist residency at Rajamangala University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where one of his paintings was selected for the Chiang Mai Art Museum.
The artist’s work is grounded in careful observation and material experimentation, resulting in characters and scenes that resonate with authenticity and emotion. His pieces are part of various private collections around the globe.
This painting is in excellent condition, stretched on wooden stretcher bars. It is signed by the artist and includes a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the gallery.
