C1930

$1,798.98

About

Erwin Eichinger Austrian, (1892-1950) The Pipe Oil on board, signed Image size: 10 inches x 7.5 inches Size including frame: 15.25 inches x 12.75 inches Erwin Eichinger was a genre and figurative painter who lived in the early 20th-century in Vienna. He was the father of Otto Eichinger (1922-2004) who he is believed to have taught, as their artistic styles and subject matter are similar. He painted finely detailed scenes of Bavarian men and Cardinals at leisure, usually reading, smoking a pipe or drinking a glass of wine, but also painted a number of historical scenes with figures in historical costumes. Eichinger died in Vienna in 1950. Presentation: The painting is housed in a new, English made gilt frame which is in excellent condition. Condition: As with all of our original antique oil paintings, this work is offered in ready to hang gallery condition, having been professionally cleaned, restored and revarnished.
