About the Item
“Entre o Afeto I” by Ritchelly Oliveira, 2025
Charcoal and Acrylic on Canvas – 100 x 70 cm (39.3 x 27.6 in)
A striking blend of intimacy and strength, “Entre o Afeto I” by Brazilian artist Ritchelly Oliveira is a powerful portrait that merges human and animal forms with poetic tenderness. Executed in charcoal and acrylic on canvas, this 2025 original work measures 100 x 70 cm and presents a man in hyperrealist detail, with a dog lovingly draped across his shoulders, its head resting gently atop his. The piece is defined by exceptional technique, tonal depth, and emotional resonance—hallmarks of Oliveira’s evolving contemporary visual language.
This painting stands out for its unique dual portrait format. Rather than separating subject and pet, Oliveira unifies their presence to suggest loyalty, affection, and a shared identity. It is not just a portrait, it is a symbolic meditation on companionship and trust.
The hyperrealism of the musculature contrasts beautifully with the softness of the dog’s fur, rendered with meticulous shading and texture work in charcoal. The acrylic medium lends permanence to the composition while enhancing contrast and dimensionality.
This is a one-of-a-kind, signed original in excellent condition. Collectors should note the artist’s growing recognition for emotionally evocative figurative works that explore human relationships and identity, particularly among underrepresented narratives.
A thoughtful and visually compelling piece, “Entre o Afeto I” is ideal for collectors seeking figurative contemporary art with psychological depth, technical finesse, and a touch of poetic surrealism.
Ritchelly Oliveira, visual artist, began his work in 2012, shortly after enter visual arts at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), he found
human figure a margin to present his speech about what he
understands the deeper aspects of emotional relationships. He works about what he suspects to be love and, believing that this is a universal feeling. Believing that affective relationships are built from the individual and
as their surroundings interfere with them, he tries to rescue the possibility
to construct discourses about love, especially black love. The importance
to reflect together on issues such as sexuality, responsibility
affective and colorism are necessary canons in this invitation to fulfill the ideals
dangerous and exclusionary forms of romantic love that circulate in our environments.
