About the Item
Erik van Elven is a modern painter with a romantic and impressionistic style. Both his brushstrokes and use of color are fresh and done in a fluid way.
Erik started years ago to paint, he got overwhelmed by the possibilities and beauty of it. Erik developed quickly, while working and studying hard we got to witness him improve fast, and his work became more and more personal. When painting a portrait, Erik wants to touch the soul of the portrayed, and he can accomplish that without a doubt. When painting a landscape, Erik gives a certain feel to it, a sphere you can't resist. In his still-life paintings he shows color, freshness and dept.
In 2016, he won a Dutch pleinair event called the ‘Haagse Schooldag’, an event with 30 contestants, and in 2017 he won the online public award of the Groene Hart Art Award. In 2019 he was on National television to paint a portrait of a Dutch well known sportswoman.
